What is SPARK? 

SPARK is group of Christian women creatives from NJ, NY, and PA that meets weekly to discuss our faith, our lives, and our businesses. Our mission is to be a weekly place of rest and connection for creatives in the Tri-State area who are eager to find a safe space to connect with God and grow in their faith.

SPARK was formed in the summer of 2012 by wedding photographers Caroline Frost, Amy Rizzuto, and Cassi Claire. SPARK has grown and flourished over the years and has become known to many women as a place of rest and reconnection with God in the midst of their busy weeks. Currently SPARK meets every Wednesday in New Jersey and is led by Amy Rizzuto, Cassi Claire, and Mekina Saylor.

Our full name is “SPARK: Turning Darkness into Light.” The name was inspired by Isaiah 42:16 where God says, “I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.”  As photographers, light is central to our craft, SPARK loves that it’s also central to God’s character. He turns our darkness into light!

Who can come?

Though our weekly meetings are primarily focused on Jesus, any woman is welcome no matter where she is at on her faith walk. 

What do you mean by “creatives?”

While SPARK was founded by photographers, we have since grown to include florists, bloggers, videographers, graphic designers, podcasters, mamas, nurses, and more! While many of us are in the wedding industry, any woman is welcome!

What if I don’t know how I feel about this Jesus stuff?

You are welcome to join us no matter where you are at with your faith.  We just ask that you are open minded and respectful of the group’s purpose.

When and where do you meet?

We meet every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in Chester, NJ.  We also do quarterly adventures which include: our annual Christmas party, visits to NYC, headshot swaps throughout the year, restaurant visits, summer BBQs, and more!
